ITC boosts Tourisme B2B rounds and consortium meeting

Members of Tourisme international consortium have gathered in Tenerife to take part into the first in-person even of its kind. Meanwhile, the selected companies have enjoyed some training about sustainability, certifications, and new touristic models. All the companies are now taking part into bidirectional meetings, where they will share experiences to improve their own transformation processes into sustainability.

During 28th of April session, the consortium has held a meeting alongside the rest of events. The Canary Institute of Technology as a member talked about its experience. In addition, EISMEA project officer Alan Vella also joined to the team while discussing the development and results reached so far.

Every member of the consortium has been present in the meeting. From Spain, the ITC, and the project coordinator, Consulta Europa Projects and Innovation have taken part in it. Italy has also sent representatives of their own teamwork from the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, and Scuola superiore Sant’Anna. Association of cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Resource Management (ACR+) has come from Belgium. Besides, France has also been in the meeting through the Institut d’Amenagement et d’Urbanisme de la Region d’Ile de France. Finally, Cyprus has participated with the Nicosia Development Agency.

In this meeting, every member had a chance to talk about the way they are managing their own work packages. For instance, the ITC manages the monitoring and evaluation of SMEs’ sustainability improvement. The consortium also shared some views about the best way to improve the companies’ results and future actions of the project.

SMEs have taken part of some bidirectional meetings which are taking place at the ITC building in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The goal is to create a strong network of companies invested in new touristic models and sustainability. These encounters will keep going from the 2nd to 24th May at the Tourisme Matchmaking Event.

For the last day of this event, Friday 29th of April, participants are visiting the city of La Laguna. It is known for being a declared World Heritage place by the UNESCO. All the companies will enjoy a guided visit to the main streets of the historic center provided by Javier González from _tivity.

L’Institut Paris Region is also organizing an in-person encounter in France under this event schedule. The 16th of May they will address the main challenges of the hospitality industry, such as air travelling, and responsible tourism. They are also having a B2B encounter that same day.
