ITC hosts third training with Spanish SMEs in Valencia

The Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC) hosts the third Tourisme training for Spanish SMEs. Valencia will be the place where the Spanish Tourisme’s beneficiaries will gather from the 26th to 28th September. CdT Valencia, the regional tourism organization, will also host the activities in its installations. The agenda will focus on two main objectives for this project. First, SMEs will be learn about good practices to promote sustainability within their companies. Secondly, they will have a chance to get some insights on sustainability certifications, such as those offered by AENOR, Biosphere Tourism or Bioscore.

The training will also offer a great opportunity for SMEs to share experiences and learn from other companies. To achieve this, different visits to locations and companies that work sustainably have been scheduled during the those three days, like Casa Montaña and Mar de Fulles. Tourisme’s goal to allow SMEs to certify their commitment with sustainability will be worked during the second day.

Topics such as sustainable travel design, communicating the corporate social responsibility, energy saving or waste reduction will be covered among many others through talks and interventions. Spanish SMEs have had a great part in the definition of some of these topics through feedback and suggestions to guarantee that these trainings are meaningful for the kind of economic activities they develop.

This is the first event celebrated in Spain after the great success of previous activities, such as the first ever training back in January to visit FITUR in Madrid, as well as the first in-person project meeting and matchmaking in later April. Twenty-one Spanish SMEs are currently part of Tourisme. If you want to know more about them, check our map out with all the data from our beneficiaries.
